The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is around the same size as a mirrorless camera, but has vastly superior video quality. I want a RED but I’ll get a BM if you just convince me to. Most importantly, show me the best Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera footage you’ve ever seen. I just want to be convinced because I want a BMPCC. Show me fast movements with the rolling shutter not ruining the shot. Rolling shutter not so great for fast moving action sports.
They require rigging most of the time, at least if you want long battery life. Here’s my take from all the internet research I’ve done. Add a speedbooster to a 4K, and you’re up to $2,000. Then there’s the risk of buying a used camera. Used 4Ks aren't much less than new, since you’re not getting the $300 DaVinci Resolve license. I’m in a quandary of which camera to buy, but I’m not in a rush. I’ve been a bit obsessed about cinema cameras this year, and the BMPCC models specifically.
